Physical DescriptionA World War II conservation poster “FROM THE SALVAGE DIVISION OF THE WAR PRODUCTION BOARD.” At the top of the red, white, black, and brown poster are the words, “AN URGENT PLEA: SAVE WASTE PAPER,” followed by a paragraph with a call to action explaining that paper is a vital “Weapon of War” needed for military supplies and emphasizing the importance of saving it. In the lower half of the poster is a white shield within which are nine graphic illustrations with captions of material “URGENTLY NEEDED FOR WAR PRODUCTION: / STORE BAGS / FLATTENED OUT BOXES / WRAPPING PAPER / CORRUGATED PAPER / NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES / WASTE BASKET PAPER / FLATTENED TIM CANS / RAGS / AND DON'T FORGET FATS AND GREASES.”
At the bottom of the poster is the War Production Board logo accompanied by the message: “APPROVED BY WAR PRODUCTION BOARD. PAID FOR BY INDUSTRY.”
On the reverse, pieces of unused "Kleen Stik" tape are located on all four corners of the poster.
