Physical DescriptionAn oblong, multicolored hooked throw rug. At the center is a black silhouette image of a Scottie dog with "FALLA ROOSEVELT" [sic] below. The dog is surrounded by various images including a sun, flowers, the year "1944", and a red and blue double-V (for Victory). The rug is edged with a red, white, and blue yarn fringe.
Historical NoteFDR had a lifelong affection for pets. The best known was Fala, a Scottish terrier given to him by his distant cousin, Margaret “Daisy” Suckley, in 1940. During World War II, Fala became Roosevelt’s constant companion and the most famous dog in America.Additional Details
