Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled “URGENT.” At the center of the red, black, and white poster is a large sepia tone photographic image of a U.S. Army soldier, situated in a foxhole, using a field radio receiver and transmitter. Superimposed diagonally over the image is the illustration of a stylized message form mimicking an official dispatch from a commanding officer to “ALL OFFICERS AND ENLISTED MEN” with the message “RADIOS-TELEPHONES-CRITICALLY SCARCE. TAKE CARE OF THEM.” At the bottom of the poster is additional text reading: “TAKE CARE OF THESE CRICAL ITEMS TOO— field wire • cable • batteries • tools • instruments • replacement parts.”

The poster includes the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text in the bottom margin of the poster reads: “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 142-S-7 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1945—O-632411.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
