Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. conservation poster. The color poster features an artwork illustration of two men working in a wooded area in autumn. They are using a two-man crosscut saw to cut down a tree marked with white Xs. In the background are two other marked trees, as well as several piles of logs from felled trees. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the illustration: "Earle B Winslow.” Text below the illustration states: “PROPER HARVESTING PAYS / Sell Crooked and Low Value Trees for Ties, Posts, and Fuel.”
