Physical DescriptionA "Roto-Gage" stamp gauge. It consists of a block-shaped black plastic gauge with a small stamp tray jutting out the front. Printed on the top of the gauge is a short ruler and directions regarding stamp sizes. The gauge also has a cylindrical stamp measure that can be turned by a knob on the right side of the gauge. Fitted to the gauge is a movable magnifying glass for examining stamps. The manufacturer's information is marked on the underside of the gauge: IMPERIAL MOLDED PRODUCTS CORPORATION / CHICAGO, U.S.A. / ROTO-GAGE PATENT PENDING.
Historical NoteA lifelong stamp enthusiast, Franklin Roosevelt used tools like this magnifier to examine stamps in his collection.
