Physical DescriptionAn original drawn and painted production cel from the animated movie, The Pointer. The cel features a scene from the movie with Mickey Mouse, dressed as a hunter, accompanied by Pluto. They are standing in a clearing backed by trees, shrubs, and rocks. Both are listening attentively to something off to the right, Pluto with his left ear raised and Mickey with a hand to his left ear.

The cell is matted is matted, glazed, and framed in a 3/4" wood frame painted black. In the mat, below the image, is a handwritten pencil message on paper that reads: Birthday Greetings / to the President / from Mickey Mouse / + Walt Disney.
Historical NoteWalt Disney sent Franklin D. Roosevelt this production cel (an original painting on celluloid) as a birthday gift in January 1940. The cell is from a 1939 animated short film titled The Pointer. In this Academy Award nominated movie, Mickey Mouse teaches his dog, Pluto, how to hunt. The cell is signed with a birthday greeting from Disney.
