Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of a young woman dressed in a student nursing uniform with a badge that reads, "NURSING SERVICE [red cross] STUDENT RESERVE. In her right hand she is holding a lit candle that illuminates a shadowy scene in the background (perhaps the student nurse visualizing her future) of a nurse administering an IV to an injured, bed-bound man while a uniformed soldier stands nearby. The artist's facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the image: Edmundson. Blue and cream-colored text on and below the image reads: Be ready for your WAR SERVICE / Join RED CROSS [red cross] STUDENT RESERVE. The bottom edge of the poster has a New York union bug and additional small text that says: POSTER 710B AUGUST 1943.
