Physical DescriptionA 1944 campaign stamp cover with a pro-Roosevelt cachet. The white envelope bears a violet U.S. 3¢ Win the War Issue stamp (Scott 905). On the left side of the envelope is a cachet consisting of a blue halftone photographic headshot of FDR captioned PRESIDENT OF U.S. / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / 1882 32ND PRES. The portrait is flanked by a red white, and blue American flag on the left and a red, white, and blue patriotic shield on the right. Red text above and below reads: Our Wartime President. / We Will win; / So help us God! F.D.R.
The envelope is addressed in printed lettering: Michael Kosko, Jr. / 2450 W. 40th Street / Cleveland, 13 Ohio. It is postmarked Fall River, Kansas, August 29, 1944. There is no return address.
