Physical DescriptionA color U.S. Army poster, titled “Keep ‘em Flying!, promoting the war effort. The poster features a composite portrait of Uncle Sam created from illustrated vignettes of home front workers (a factory worker, scientist, nurse, and farmer) and military personnel (a soldier, sailor, and airman). Additional images of factories, the U.S. Capitol, and the American flag round out the image. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the artwork: “c.c.beall.” Also in the lower left corner of the illustration is a printed poem by Jack Childs. Text along the bottom of the poster reads: “PRESENTED BY THE UNITED STATES ARMY RECRUITING SERVICE.”

Additional small text below the artwork reads: “Original painting presented to the U. S. Army Recruiting Service by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. / P-34—RPB-11-8-41—75M.
