Physical DescriptionA large color campaign jugate poster. The poster features a black and white photographic portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt by Pach Brothers. Surrounding the image is red and blue text that reads: "DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE BIG BOYS! Give YOURSELF a Break / ★ STAND BY / [photo of FDR] / ★ VOTE FOR / ROOSEVELT AND WALLACE / They Stand for YOU First! / SOCIAL SECURITY ACT – WAGNER ACT – HOUSING ACT OF 1936 / BANK DEPOSIT INSURANCE – UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE / NATIONAL DEFENSE FOR PEACE."
Along the bottom of the poster is a New York Allied Printing union bug and the number “258”.
Historical NoteThis 1940 campaign poster was sent to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library by Neville T. Kirk in June 1942. Kirk, who was president of the Pleasantville [New York] Democratic Association at the time, was also the designer of the poster.Along the bottom of the poster is a New York Allied Printing union bug and the number “258”.
