Physical DescriptionA half-hull model of the AMBERJACK II. The wood model of the two-masted ship at full sail has a white painted hull. Three flags - the American flag, the Presidential flag, and a nautical flag - fly from the masts. The model is mounted in a 2" glass and black, gold, and bronze painted wood shadowbox frame with a simulated sea and sky painted background. Written along bottom of the painted background: PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT ON HIS VACATION CRUISE TO PULPIT HARBOR JUNE 1933. A large green tag attached to the back of the frame reads: Big House / 323. An inscription on the frame's backer paper has severely faded over time.
Historical NotePresident Roosevelt piloted the AMBERJACK II on a summer cruise in June 1933 from New England to Campobello Island after the completion of his famous first 100 days in office.
