Hanging on the wall behind her is a small World War II service flag with one blue star. The artist's facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the image: LAWRENCE WILBUR. Below the image, gray and blue text on a light green background reads: Longing won't bring him back sooner. . . / GET A WAR JOB! / SEE YOUR U. S. EMPLOYMENT SERVICE / WAR MANPOWER COMMISSION.
