Physical DescriptionA black and white World War II poster titled, “BRITAIN . . . Base for Round-the-Clock Bombing." On the left side of the poster is an outline illustration of Great Britain from which radiate six arrows (representing various times of the day) each leading to an illustration on the right side of the poster highlighting British and American military aircraft bombings of overseas enemy airfields and industrial, military, and transportation targets. Text printed below the map of Britain reads: “Three year ago . . . on September 15, 1940 . . . 'the few' British pilots to whom 'so much is owed by so many' won the aerial Battle of Britian which preserved the island as 'the stationary aircraft carrier' used by British and American bombers today."
