Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster titled “The Arm Behind the Army.” The black and white poster features a drawn illustration of Uncle Sam and an American miner having a discussion as they watch a departing ship with an “AEF” (American Expeditionary Forces) flag. Uncle Sam says to miner, “THE LIVES OF EVERY ONE OF THOSE BOYS DEPENDS ON YOUR KEEPING 'EM SUPPLIED WITH METAL!" and the miner replies, "DON'T WORRY – WE'LL BACK EM UP!" The artist’s facsimile signature is at the bottom of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
