Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster titled “Hit 'em with Copper, Zinc, Lead.” The black and white poster features a drawn illustration of a helmeted American miner, holding a long rod, in conversation with Uncle Sam. The miner remarks, “GOSH, WOULD I LIKE TO TAKE A CRACK AT THOSE JAPS!” to Uncle Sam who responds, “YOU'RE DOIN' IT EVERY DAY – WITH EVERY TON OF ORE YOU MINE TO MAKE TANKS, PLANES AND GUNS." The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
