Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as the teacup (MO 2007.169.41a) that accompanies this saucer. The saucer is on display in the ROOSEVELT IN POP CULTURE exhibit in the Museum’s NEW DEAL gallery.
