Physical Descriptiona) A series of five black and white photos of Fala inserted into a single mat with individual windows for each photo. At the center of the mat is the hand written ink caption: FALA / September 26, 1944. Written in the lower right corner of the mat: By Percy T. Jones, N.Y.C.

b) A 1/2" black and natural wood frame with glazing in which the matted photos originally were displayed. The frame has an easel backer on which is a framer's sticker for William Hauptschein of New York, New York. The frame is stored separately from the photos.
Historical NoteThese photographs of FDR’s dog, Fala, were taken by sporting dog photographer Percy T. Jones on September 26, 1944. The President placed the photographs in his Study at the Roosevelt Library. Facsimiles of the photographs are on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.
