Physical Descriptiona) A black and white photo of Margaret "Rolly" Hambley with Fala on her lap. The photograph is inscribed and signed in black ink below the image: To my Godpapa / With love / Rolly Hambley and Fala - Aug. 1940.

b) A 1/2" dark stained wood frame with glazing in which the photograph was originally displayed. The frame has a Masonite backer board with a metal easel stand. On the back of the frame is a framer's sticker for The Art Shop of Poughkeepsie, New York. The frame is stored separately from the photo.
Historical NotePresident Roosevelt kept this photo in his Study at the Roosevelt Library. It depicts his goddaughter, Margaret "Rolly" Hambley, with his dog, Fala. Rolly Hambley was the niece of FDR’s distant cousin, Margaret “Daisy” Suckley. A facsimile of the photograph is on display in FDR’S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.
