Physical DescriptionA small, plaster head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt with a bronze-painted finish. He is shown wearing a suit jacket, waistcoat, shirt, and tie. Inscribed on the front of the integrated pedestal base is FDR's name: F.D. ROOSEVELT. The maker's information is inscribed on the reverse of the bust: © 1933 / A.P. NARDINI / BOSTON, MASS.
Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as this small bust.
