Physical DescriptionA small, plaster head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt with a silver-painted finish. He is shown wearing a suit jacket, shirt, and tie. Inscribed on the front of the base is FDR's name: FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT. The flat reverse side of the bust indicates it may have been created as a bookend.
Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products like this small bust.
