Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. conservation poster titled “LICK THE PLATTER CLEAN.” The color poster features a stylized, cartoon-like illustration of the English nursery rhyme characters Jack Sprat and his wife dressed in Medieval-type clothing. With pleased expressions, the pair looks down at a large, spotlessly-clean brass platter they are both holding. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the illustration: “VERNON GRANT.” Text below the image reads: “Don’t Waste FOOD.”
