Physical DescriptionA color poster encouraging enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard. On a bright blue background is a graphic illustration of a man – dressed in a foul weather hat, coat, and boots – standing on a peak and looking through binoculars at a ship on the water in the distance. Red and yellow text on the poster states: “ON THE ALERT! / ENLIST NOW! / UNITED STATES COAST GUARD / APPLY NEAREST RECRUITING STATION.” On the left side of the poster is a small white box with additional text in black that reads: “U. S. COAST GUARD RECRUITING OFFICE / Room 1206, Farm Credit Building / 1300 E Street, N. W. • • Washington, D. C.” In the very bottom right corner is the maker information: “C. G. H. NO. 1.”
