Physical DescriptionA Colonial Williamsburg-style mahogany inlaid Lolling Chair. The chair has wooden arms and legs and is covered in brown leather. The seat and back are filled with animal hair and felt. On the underside of the seat is a manufacturer's tag for Kittinger Co., dated November 20, 1962.
Historical NoteThis chair was made by the Kittinger Company in 1962 as a replacement for the original desk chair used by President Roosevelt in his private Study at the Roosevelt Library. The original desk chair was removed by FDR's son, James, after the President's death. This chair is on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.
