Physical DescriptionA watercolor painting of what appears to be a view of New York's Hudson River Highlands near West Point. At the center of the painting is the river on which is a number of small sailing vessels and one steam-powered sailing ship. High cliffs flank the river, and mountains are visible in the background. In the foreground, three men are standing and sitting on the side of a dirt road overlooking the river. Additional figures are seen fishing on the left side of the shoreline. The painting is unsigned.

The painting is matted, glazed, and framed in a 7/8" black and gilt wood frame.
Historical NoteThis painting is one of two watercolors (see also MO 1946.146.2) of the Hudson River Highlands sent to Franklin D. Roosevelt by W. Lloyd Keepers, a New York City print collector, in July 1937.

Custodial History NoteLent to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on December 26, 1941. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
