The can is shown transforming into the bullets of an ammunition belt for an automatic weapon being fired by two helmeted U.S. Army soldiers shown at the center of the poster. White and blue text at the top and bottom of the poster reads: SAVE YOUR CANS / Help Pass the Ammunition/ PREPARE YOUR TIN CANS / FOR WAR / 1 REMOVE TOPS AND BOTTOMS / 2 TAKE OF PAPER LABELS / 3 WASH THOROUGHLY / 4 FLATTEN FIRMLY. The artwork is by McClelland Barclay, USNR. The War Production Board eagle emblem is located in the bottom left corner followed by the text: APPROVED BY SALVAGE DIVISION, WAR PRODUCTION BOARD.
