Physical DescriptionA large model of the USMC barge, PINE TREE. The wooden model is painted gray with red trim, has one mast at the bow, and a quarterdeck at the stern. The name of ship is found on both port and starboard sides at the top of the quarterdeck. The model is fixed to a dark stained wooden base.
Historical NoteThe PINE TREE was launched on February 8, 1943, by the Camden Shipbuilding & Marine Railway Company at Camden, Maine. Eleanor Roosevelt was the ship’s sponsor.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 8, 1943. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
