Physical DescriptionA large model of the EC-2 cargo vessel (Liberty Ship), SS JOHN BIDWELL. The wooden ship is gray with red trim. The name of the ship is on both sides of the bow and the number "109" is at the prow. The model is affixed to a wood base and mounted inside a wood and glass case.
Historical NoteThis model was presented to President Roosevelt on January 4, 1943 as a gift from 40,000 California Shipbuilding Corporation employees.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 8, 1943. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
