Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Navy conservation poster. The orange, blue, black, and white poster features a comic-like illustration of a burly Navy sailor ripping a platter of food out of the hands of man standing with his wife and small child. Text above and below the illustration states: “YOU WOULDN'T DEPRIVE YOUR FAMILY OF FOOD! OF COURSE NOT! BUT – THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU THROW GOOD CHOW AWAY!" The artist’s facsimile signature is below the illustration: "HOTCHKISS USNR.”
