Physical DescriptionA brass key to the State Capitol in Hartford, Connecticut. Attached to the front of the key is a thermometer. At the top of the handle is an image of the Connecticut Capitol Building and the text: KEY TO STATE CAPITOL / HARTFORD CONN. The Presidential Seal is on the reverse. At the bottom on the reverse: PAT. / AUG. 25, 1925.
Historical NoteThis key is a souvenir of a conference of state governors held in New London, Connecticut on June 16-18, 1929. It is on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 10, 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
