Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster. In the upper half of the red, black, gray, and white poster is a cartoon illustration of a U.S. Army soldier sneaking around a sign reading “DON’T HOARD SPARE PARTS” and furtively stashing spare parts under what appears to be a step. On the lower half of the poster is a small line illustration of a soldier carrying a large box of “SPARE PARTS” accompanied by a numbered four-point list on how to properly handle parts. Along the bottom of the poster is text stating: “Remember PROPER CARE MEANS MORE SPARE PARTS” below which is series of small illustrations of various parts.
The poster includes the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text in the bottom margin of the poster has distribution instructions and “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 162-O-33 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1945—O-644859.”
Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
