Physical DescriptionA wooden model of an elaborately decorated river excursion boat, the ROBERT E. LEE. The boat has a white, red, and light green hull and white, gold-tone, and black trim throughout. Two large black smokestacks are at the center. The boat has five levels, including a promenade deck and a hurricane deck, and has a control room at the top. An American flag flies at the bow. At the stern, two boarding planks hang from chains and a mast sports a weather vane and flag marked, ROB E. LEE. The name of ship is found in black and gold-tone on both port and starboard sides near the stern and bow. The model is fixed to a wooden base.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 9, 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
