Physical DescriptionA charcoal sketch of Elinore M. Herrick done from life. Done on buff paper, the head and shoulders portrait shows Herrick turned partially to the proper right. Herrick’s pencil signature is directly below the portrait: Elinore M. Herrick. The artist's stamped signature is in the lower left quadrant of the artwork page: S.J. Woolf. Stamped in red ink along the top of the page: [illegible month] 16 1937. Written in pencil and stamped in black ink in the lower right quadrant: #4286 / MAG / 5"w x 7½ "d / 4268.

The artwork page is mounted inside a window mat folder.
Historical NoteElinore M. Herrick (1895-1964), a specialist in labor relations, served on the New York Labor Board in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's National Recovery Administration (NRA). She was also an organizer and director of the American Labor Party's campaign for FDR’s reelection in 1936.
