Physical DescriptionA pair of gold cuff links, each with "F·D·R" on one half, and "C·H·McC" on the other half. The year "1920" is engraved on the reverse sides. Stamped on each of the connecting bars: 14KT. There is no maker's mark on the links.
The cuff links come with a personalized box (MO 2011.14c).
Historical NoteFDR presented his 1920 campaign staff with engraved gold cufflinks. The "Cuff Links Gang" met annually to celebrate Roosevelt’s birthday for the rest of his life. These cufflinks belonged to Charles H. McCarthy. They are on display in the RISING POLITICAL STAR exhibit in the Museum’s FOUNDATIONS OF A PUBLIC LIFE gallery.The cuff links come with a personalized box (MO 2011.14c).
