Physical Descriptiona) An oblong Omega travel clock inserted within a chrome and gray leather easel-type folding case/stand with a sterling silver surround framing the clock face. The cream-colored face of the clock has gold-colored Arabic numerals and the manufacturer's name: OMEGA / 8 DAY.

b) The clock comes with a light blue-gray leather carrying case (now heavily discolored). Stamped onto the exterior of the case is a gilt inscription that reads: D. G. J. / from / F. D. R. / OCTOBER 16, 1937.

c) Both the travel clock and case come stored in a dark green velvet drawstring bag that may not be original to the set.
Historical NoteFranklin D. Roosevelt acquired and used this travel clock during his time as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, carrying it with him during his 1918 tour of the Western front.

In 1937, FDR gifted the clock to his personal secretary and stenographer Dorothy Brady (née Dorothy Grace Jones) as a wedding present. FDR had the leather carrying case inscribed for the occasion.
