Physical DescriptionA small, oval pocket mirror. On the celluloid-covered front is a colorized image of FDR - head and shoulders - wearing a suit and tie, with a green and pink background. A mirror is inserted into the reverse side. An adhesive sticker attached to mirror reads: Collector Item / 500 / 50700.
Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as this pocket mirror. It is on display in the ROOSEVELT IN POP CULTURE exhibit in the Museum’s NEW DEAL gallery.
