Physical DescriptionA low, three-tiered wooden bookshelf with a dark finish. The first two tiers each consist of four horizontal wood slats arranged in a "V" shape to cradle books. The bottom tier consists of a flat shelf. Each end piece of the bookshelf is designed with an "X" design, in the center of which is a small, round inlaid wood medallion. A larger elliptical inlaid wood medallion is found on the lower section of each side piece. A thin inlaid wood band also decorates each post and cross section, as well as the bottom tier. The bookshelf is made to stand alongside a chair.
Historical NoteThis low wooden bookshelf by an unknown maker is on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
