Physical DescriptionA large, polished variegated white marble ashtray with a cast patinated bronze carp mounted upright in the center. Inscribed on the plaque on the edge of the base: F.D.R. from H.S.C. Four indentions on the marble base allows for cigars and cigarettes to rest. The underside of the base is lined with green wool felt.
Historical NoteThis marble ashtray was presented to President Roosevelt by Attorney General Homer S. Cummings. It is on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
