Physical DescriptionA paperweight consisting of three brass cartridges mounted vertically on a round brass stand. The tips of cartridges are copper-colored. On the top surface of the base is a small circle with "42" above and "TW" below, both within a larger circle. Inscribed around the edge of the base: TWIN CITIES ORDNANCE PLANT - 1942.
Historical NoteDuring his far-flung wartime inspection tours, President Roosevelt often received models and other gifts from workers and staff in defense factories and military facilities. Defense worker Peggy Johlf presented FDR with this paperweight when he toured the Twin Cities Ordnance factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota in September 1942. It is on display in the MOBILIZING THE PEOPLE exhibit in the Museum’s WORLD WAR II gallery.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
