Physical DescriptionA wooden model of a US destroyer. Made entirely of stained wood, the ship has one mast and two smoke stacks. The model is fixed to a natural wood base to which is mounted an inscribed metal plaque: THE HONORABLE FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / MADE OF WOODS OF COSTA RICA. / FROM EDWIN F. THOMAS.
Historical NoteThis model was presented to President Roosevelt by Edwin F. Thomas of Miami, Florida in April 1943.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 1, 1943. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
