Physical DescriptionA small, cream-colored, painted plaster head and shoulders bust of Will Rogers. He is shown wearing a jacket, shirt, and tie. The artist's name is etched into the plaster surface on the reverse of the integrated pedestal base: GOWAN. Written in blue pencil on the underside of the base is an inscription that reads: Compliments of / Grady Gowan / Nashville, / Tenn. Also on the underside of the base is attached a small adhesive sticker with a typed number: D-27-19a.
Historical NoteThis bust of Will Rogers was given to President Franklin Roosevelt by the artist, Grady Gowan of Nashville, Tennessee.
