Physical DescriptionA small plaster head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt with an ivory pearlized finish. He is seen wearing a suit jacket, waistcoat, shirt, and tie. An inscription in a script lettering on the front of the base reads: Roosevelt. The maker's name is stamped in ink on the underside of the base but is difficult to read. A sticker adhered on the reverse of the bust has a typed number: D-28-29.
Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products like this small bust.
