Historical NoteDuring the 1932 presidential campaign, a movement to raise funds for the Democratic National Committee was organized in Philadelphia by a group called Shareholders of America. For one dollar or more, contributors could purchase a bronze pin based on this plaque by Gutzon John Borglum. FDR was the first person to purchase a medallion. Borglum subsequently presented this plaque to him. It is on display in the 1932 ELECTION CAMPAIGN exhibit in the Museum’s THE PROMISE OF CHANGE gallery.Obverse: Left-facing profiles of Franklin D.
