Physical DescriptionA guest badge for the 1932 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid, New York. The octagonal metal badge has a raised edge and a gilt finish. In the center of the medal is a relief image of a lake with mountains and clouds in the background. The Olympic rings symbol overlays the water of the lake. Text above and below the image reads: III OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES / LAKE PLACID 1932. The pin back reverse of the badge has the number "1006" stamped into it.

Hanging from the reverse of the badge are two lengths of red, white, blue striped ribbon, with "HONOR GUEST" stamped in gold on the top ribbon.
Historical NoteThe 1932 Winter Olympics, officially known as the III Olympic Winter Games, took place in Lake Placid, New York from February 4-15, 1932. On February 4, 1932, Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt formally opened the Olympics in Lake Placid.
