Physical DescriptionAn intact admission ticket for the March 4, 1933 inauguration of Franklin Roosevelt and John Garner.
On the front of the light orange and white ticket is an image of an inaugural seal overprinted with black text that reads: INAUGURATION / OF THE / PRESIDENT / AND / VICE PRESIDENT / OF THE / UNITED STATES / WASHINGTON, D. C. MARCH 4, 1933 / ADMIT ONE. The ticket is for the President's Stand, Stand 1, Gate Left, Section E, Row 5, Seat 3. The manufacturer's information is printed vertically along the perforation line: GLOBE TICKET COMPANY, PHILADELPHIA.
On the opposite side of the ticket, on a dark orange, blue, and white illustration of a rising sun with the date "1933," are oval black and white halftone photographic portraits of FDR (left) and Garner (right). On the right side of the ticket (the removable portion) is printed text that reads: This TICKET WILL / NOT BE HONORED / IF SOLD OR OFFERED / FOR RESALE AT / MORE THAN THE / PRICE HEREON, OR / IF OTHERSIDE / USED CONTRARY TO / THE CONDITIONS / UNDER WHICH IT / WAS ACCEPTED / BY THE ORIGINAL / PURCHASER.
