Black text above, between, and below the portraits reads: ALONE BUT NOT DESERTED / TEXAS [within a star] / FOR PRESIDENT JAMES K. POLK. / FOR VICE PRESIDENT GEORGE M. DALLAS / Let Polk Dallas & Texas be the watchword, & Countersign, and victory is certain / Andrew Jackson.
