The sheet is captioned: IDLE AND UNEMPLOYED WANDERERS / FIND HAVEN / IN THE / CIVILIAN / CONSERVATION / CORPS / AND / TRANSFORM / UNSIGHTLY WASTELANDS / INTO BEAUTIFUL RIVERSIDE PARKS.

Written at the bottom of the sheet: THE PRESIDENTS DREAM COMES TRUE IN THE MAUMEE VALLEY / Mr President your dream is coming true in the Maumee Valley / We have made stone masons and carpenters out of 75 unskilled boys / Thanks to you Mr. President your dream has caused the disappearance of / many 'Eyesores' and the consequent disclosure of many heretofore unseen / panoramic views such as represented on page 2 / W. A . Ritter / Supt. Camps SP2 + SP3 Napoleon, Ohio, / P.S. - We would appreciate your influence in holding camp OSP #3 / another six months to complete this unfinished project - war.

Historical NoteThis sheet of drawings by Stephen Klissaroff of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) depicts the CCC’s work in Ohio’s Maumee Valley. The sheet was sent to President Roosevelt in April1935 by W. A. Ritter of Ohio State Park Camp #3 in Napoleon, Ohio.
