Physical DescriptionA scale model of the 83' coast guard cutter, CGC-83385. The dark gray wood boat has a red and black hull. On either side of the prow in white: CGC-83385. The model is mounted to a wood base to which is attached a brass plaque with the inscription: 83' CUTTER / BUILT FOR / U.S. COAST GUARD / BY / WHEELER SHIPYARD, INC. / BROOKLYN, N. Y. / MODEL PRESENTED / TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE / UNITED STATES / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / BY THE / WHEELER SHIPYARD, INC. / MAY 1943 / MODEL BUILT BY / DONALD L. ATKINS / NATICK, MASS.
