Physical DescriptionA coat-tail pin from the campaigns of Franklin Roosevelt and Henry Schricker. It consists of two metal cutouts in the shape of the state of Indiana, both suspended - one over the other - from the same straight pin.

The top cutout consists of three horizontal bands in red, white, and blue. At the center is a blue silhouette illustration of a crowing rooster. White text above and below reads: ROOSEVELT / SCHRICKER. A Chicago union bug is printed in the lower left corner.

The bottom cutout has a blue and white line illustration of a hat on a dark blue background. White text above and below reads: THE SYMBOL OF / GOOD CLEAN / GOVERNMENT. A union bug and the number "313" are printed at the bottom.
Historical NoteThis 1940 campaign pin features presidential candidate Franklin Roosevelt and Henry Schricker, the Democratic Party's successful candidate for governor of Indiana. Schricker customarily wore a white hat while campaigning as a symbol of "clean government".
