Physical DescriptionA British World War II propaganda poster. The color poster consists of two separate cartoon-like illustrations. In the left panel is an image of a merchant ship on open water being manned by four visible sailors involved in various activities such as raising a black flag, sending up a parachute, and firing explosives up into the air. The panel on the right shows a downed German Luftwaffe plane in open water with just the tail still visible to which the pilot is hanging on to. Black text on the two panels reads, from left to right: Those words should have come – / from the pilot! Both panels have the artist's facsimile initials and the date JE 1941.
