Physical DescriptionA black, white, and blue poster promoting enlistment in the U.S. Navy. The poster features a large black and white photographic image of the light cruiser, USS MARBLEHEAD (CL-12) on open water against a blue background representing the sky. In the upper section of the sky is a darker blue illustrated world map with a dotted line indicating the route of the ship in February - May 1942 from the Makassar Strait in Indonesia to New York City. Overlaying the map is a white box with the heading "THE U.S.S. MARBLEHEAD COMES HOME!" followed by text summarizing the heroic deeds of the ship at Macassar [sic] Strait and her arduous trip back to the United States, and encouraging men to enlist in the U.S. Navy.
